Walk along the bed of Piccaninny Creek, which flows only in the monsoon waterfall season. The walk distance is about 3km. Today follow your tour guide on a 1.5-hour return walk into the incredible Echidna Chasm. The rocky path which you follow on this walk weaves between towering cliff faces, and at times will narrow to a width of less than two-metres. Gazing skywards to the bright blue sky, the orange towering walls look as if they are lit from within, and are scattered with Livistona palm trees clinging to the walls. This walk requires trekkers to climb over boulders and navigate stairs, so we recommend this tour to those with a high level of mobility.
Return via a scenic flight to Kununurra, on the way viewing the Argyle Diamond Mine site where rare pink diamonds were once mined. You will also fly over the stunning Carr Boyd and Osmand Ranges, and the Ord and Bow Rivers.

Day 7 – Windjana Gorge & Tunnel Creek to Fitzroy Crossing
Continue through the rugged Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges, previously known as the King Leopold Ranges. This is a conservation area with spectacular, rugged mountain scenery and a number of lookouts to view the expanse of this fascinating area.
Heading further south, the spectacular mountain scenery gives way to more open areas and fascinating geology before we pass through the Queen Victoria Pass in the Napier Range, which is an ancient 300-million-year-old limestone range formed when the area was underwater.
We cross the Lennard River and follow the ancient Devonian Reef formations to magnificent Windjana Gorge National Park.
Walk beneath towering limestone cliffs that were once part of a vast tropical reef system hundreds of millions of years ago. Look for freshwater crocodiles and abundant birdlife along the Lennard River.
Continue to Tunnel Creek National Park, where we explore an extraordinary underground river passage through the limestone range.
