" Today's world of busyness and technology keeps many of us in a mental mindset - we lose the feeling of who we are and the sense of the mystical - and the sense of the Wild man within - that deeper part of a mans psyche that yearns to be free, to hunt and explore new territory, and share stories of the journey and discoveries with other men - around a fire. Fire Is a symbol of passion - it ignites and stirs that inner light that Mandela refers to, and burns out the dead wood thinking that is too easy to be trapped in. Fire is also warming and nurturing. As we journey, and around the campfire, under 10 billion stars in the middle of the vast emptiness of the Australian deserts, men find a new depth and sense of connection to themselves and their role as a man. The journey is an unfolding to great personal clarity as we let go of the noise and stress of mundane life. The desert shows us a vitality that blossoms from emptiness - that may lie dormant for years. Now, after teaming rains, the deserts are blossoming.
