Day 1 – Pickup from your Broome hotel or Darwin
fly or drive options. depart Broome approximately 1 pm after lunch.
Travel via the vast savannah grasslands, majestic boabs and powerful
mountains of the Western Kimberley to
Fitzroy Crossing and our comfy first night at the Fitzroy River Lodge.
Accommodation upgrades available or comfy camping. Hotel dinner at own
expense.
If choosing Darwin departure is 7am to
Kununurra via road or fly option to Kununurra available – please ask
Day 2 – Depart for the Geike Gorge cruise on the
FitzroyRiver.
Marvel at the river heights of past years, and enjoy the rich bird and
animal life on this relaxing 1 hour cruise. On return is morning tea
before the drive via spectacular mountains and mesas to
Mary’s Pool for lunch. Later we check out Halls Creek
before the 4WD drive into the Bungle Bungles (PurnululuNational Park) for overnight camp or accommodation if pre booked. BLD

Day 3 – Today we
marvel at this high energy amazing orange and black striped beehive
landscape formed by giant river systems. Walk the spectacular Cathedral
Cave and Piccanninny Creek and
after lunch a walk in Echidna Gorge. Optional scenic
helicopter flight available. Enjoy
sunset viewing from local lookout over this
stunning landscape before a hearty meal and overnight camp in the
Bungle Bungles or accommodation if pre booked. BLD
Day 4 – We farewell the Bungle Bungles today and stop at Turkey Creek and the Warnum art centre –
where Rover Thomas and many other Aboriginal artists became
famous. Here you can view the latest works, meet the artists and find
some bargain art. After lunch at
Turkey Creek, we head for Kununurra through powerful mountain ranges,
crossing the OrdRiver and in time for Kununurra art galleries or other treats. Overnight Kununurra, Dinner at local restaurant own
expense. BL
Day 5 – Five Rivers Lookout and Wyndham
are visited today
and Parry’s Lagoon for the rich wetlands bird life
including Jabirus and Brolgas. An optional Lake Argyle
cruise is available today or enjoy the Aboriginal Art
galleries, Sandalwood Factory & plantations, Pink Diamonds, and
Zebra Rock art Galleries of Kununurra. We travel the Gibb River Rd, to enjoy a
picnic lunch at El Questro’s Emma Gorge resort
before a walk to Emma Gorge sacred waterhole and a swim in the
refreshing waters. El Questro is a million acres of spectacular Kimberley
scenery, rivers and gorges. Its here that the movie Australia
was filmed, nestled under the Cockburn Ranges. Late
afternoon we relax by the river at our El Questro Station

Day
6 – This morning
soak up the relaxing Zebedee hot springs, before exploring more of the El
Questro treats including
El Questro and Moonshine Gorges, a cruise in the Chamberlain River
Gorge and viewing from PigeonLookout over
the Pentecost River.

Day 7 – Today we journey the the scenic and spectacular Gibb
River Road via Cockburn Range, to cross the mighty Pentecost River and
view from a high vantage
point. We stop to view some Aboriginal rock art including Wandjina and
Bradshaw’s. Enjoy lunch at a bird lovers billabong. We take a right turn at the
Kulumburu Rd, and stop at
the famous working cattle station,Drysdale River Station for overnight.. BLD

Day 8 – After breakfast we
travel through spectacular vegetation including cycads, pandanas palms
and rainforests and ford the KingEdwardRiver before our overnight camp on MitchellPlateau. Here we can enjoy the waterfalls, swim and visit a vast
gallery of Aboriginal rock art. BLD
Day 9 – Today we drive through the Mitchell Plateau to MitchellFalls car park and do the downhill walk via spectacular swimming pools and
waterfalls. View Bradshaw (Gion Gion) rock art sites
(including Thylacine) and
swim in these beautiful clear fresh waters. This is one of the
most remote areas of Australia. At Falls base we have a couple of hours to relax
and swim in these pristine, energised waters. We take the easy way out
with the thrill of a spectacular helicopter ride over the Mitchells Falls for a once in a lifetime view of this vast landscape.Options also
available for extended flights to coastal areas (pre book with Spirit
Safaris). Overnight on MitchellPlateau at our KingEdwardRiver camp. BLD

Day 10 – Travel back down
the
Gibb River Rd
we stop at the GibbRiver – a
great opportunity for bird watching or just enjoying the water and
pandanas palms. Here we can meet some of
the local Ngarinyin Aboriginal people. We’ll
aim to share a meal together, and hear insights into the dreamtime and
local culture. We visit Mt Barnett Roadhouseand enjoy more rock art and stories
and have time to relax or be creative by the beautiful swimming hole at our campsite at Manning Gorge. BLD
Day 11
– Relax this morning before a
walk to Manning Gorge waterfalls for a swim and bask
in this pristine environment. Return to camp for meal and evening campfire. Overnight Manning
Gorge. BLD
Day 12 – First stop this morning, we take a short walk off
the road to Galvan’s Gorge for good swimming and
photos too! We travel on to
arrive at Mornington Sanctuary. In the afternoon we
visit Cadjeput and Bluebush swimming holes before sunset viewing at Savannah Hill.
This evening we optionally join Mornington’s Naturalist
Guide for a talk & slideshow for an insight into the work of the Australian
Wildlife Conservancy and the unique values of Mornington
Wildlife Sanctuary.
Day 13– An early morning 1 hour
walk allows us to see the most animal and birdlife on Annie
Creek, before we take a 25 km drive to Dimond Gorge viewing
majestic geological formations and the highlight – the view from
the lookout at Dimond Gorge. Return to base for lunch, then depart via
Imitji Aboriginal community before an afternoon walk in Windjana Gorge
with the abundant wildlife and numerous freshwater crocodiles in this
eerie, ancient seabed environment.

Day 14 – Enjoy an early morning walk in Windjana Gorge before we travel to nearby Tunnel Creek,
where we walk through this 600m long underground river system to a
hidden waterhole. Our day includes a tasty picnic lunch and optional
swim in the waterhole before we call in to the new Mowanjum Art Centre
(meet the artists, opportunity to buy art from source) at the Mowanjum
Aboriginal Community. We visit Derby
and the wharf with the 30ft (10 m) tides on the southern shores of King
Sound. We see some of
the biggest and oldest Boabs in the Kimberleyin
this area, including the infamous Prison Tree near
Derby. Arrive Broome late afternoon to enjoy sunset over the Indian Ocean, and possible optional camel ride.
After tasty treats on CableBeach,
we enjoy a meal at a local restaurant before accommodation in Broome. BLD

Day 15 – Tour ends after
breakfast at 10 am. Store your gear with
us to enjoy the day before flights home or alternate destinations or
consider travelling with us to Alice Springs via the Tanami Track, Wolfe Creek Crater and art centres. Many options available to visit
spectacular James Price Point after we celebrate
with a morning swim and breakfast at Cable Beach. Options include a scenic flight
to the Horizontal Waterfalls
or visit the Willie Creek Pearl Farm, or simply shop
or relax in Broome’s balmy climate. Tour
ends after breakfast 10am. B
