Rhythm Workshop & Percussion Party with Kevin Kelly

Includes Bodhran Drum to keep - It's FUN and easy to learn

Saturday evening October 25, 2008 & optional sleep over to Sunday - Hunter Valley NSW

Join us and Kevin Kelly, renowned drumming workshop leader around the fire circle on a beautiful 20 acre property on the spectacular Sugarloaf Mountain Range at Brunkerville (near Freemans Waterhole) lower Hunter Valley. A fun filled evening with friends, learning & embracing the rhythms of nature in this powerful environment.

Make a weekend of it - Come early and enjoy the Hunter Valley vineyards then a relaxing dinner at sunset overlooking magnificent Mt Vincent from the homestead verandah.

Make it twice the fun - Saturday join the 1 day Vision Quest for an empowering purposeful deep nature adventure. Meet us in Sydney or Hunter then end the day with Drumming workshop & party.  Sunday relax & enjoy the wine in the Hunter vineyards, or a walk in the Watagans.

Program

  • Arrive between 4–6 pm - a warm welcome awaits you from Lynne & Richard and our farmyard friends. Helping hands allow you enjoy the serenity of sunset as we settle under the stars. Pitch a tent near the fire circle or unroll your swag in the cosy homestead. Tea/Coffee on arrival.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • 6pm - Barbecue dinner “Moonlight Feast” - BYO BBQ food or enjoy sausage sizzle.

  • 7.30pm -  Drumming Workshop by Kevin Kelly founder BodhranWorld – Once settled everyone is presented with a Frame Drum, Case and Stick. Kevin teaches a great array of rhythm patterns with lots of FUN group exercises. Learn rhythms, reels and jigs, ambient drumming, volume & stick techniques, playing with tones, ambient beats, traditional celtic rhythms and interactive answer and call sessions. These drumming patterns will be filled with FUN.

  • 9pm - Supper & billy tea 

  • 10pm - The Sky at Night – A fascinating talk on Songlines & Star Patterns by Richard O'Neill.

  • 10:30 to 12pm - Moonlight Drumming Circle   

  • Hot Drinks and a roaring fire are to be enjoyed throughout the evening.

About Kevin Kelly

Kevin has successfully run team building and motivation days at great outdoors locations both in the UK and Australia, incorporating an element of FUN whilst getting the corporate message across.

Kevin also entertains guests at Corporate Dinners and gets them involved in creating their own entertainment.

Author of "Live Life on the Edge" the audio CD that introduces the art of Bodhrán percussion, Kevin makes "SLEEPY SEMINARS" a thing of the past.

Weekend Details

Professional tuition, FREE drum to keep, Fire Circle, BBQ plate, sausage sizzle & light supper provided. BYO food to share for dinner and breakfast, bedding (eg sleeping bag, blanket & airbed), tent if desired or available to hire ($15), or sleep on the homestead floor, balcony or in the marquee.

Cost including genuine Bodhran Frame Drum, Case and Stick only $250
